So do you want to come in from the cold with your own ‘we’re here and we’re queer’ type declaration, maybe ‘we’re here and we’re non-empathic sociopathic’? Or do you want to loose a fatal flu bug?
As background for this post, please see “It [sociopathy] is human biodiversity like homosexuality”. A commenter both declared him/herself a dissocial and also said “we’d do fine without you [empathic normals].” His/her desires seem split.
Robert Hare, PhD, was invited to cover sociopathy on several TV shows. However he turned it down, saying it would have been a circus. His own comments are no longer online, however Robert Herzc (on Hare’s site) had this to say:
He’s been asked to be a guest on Oprah (twice), 60 Minutes, and Larry King Live. Oprah wanted him alongside a psychopath and his victim. “I said, ‘This is a circus,’ ” Hare says. “I couldn’t do that.” 60 Minutes also wanted to “make it sexy” by throwing real live psychopaths into the mix.

It’s a pity that he didn’t take them up on this. It would seem that the producers sought to feature the seeming normalness of the psychopaths. (I should note that Herzc’s entire article is well worth reading.)
Meanwhile over in Holland.
A virus with the potential to kill up to half the world’s population has been made in a lab. Now academics and bioterrorism experts are arguing over whether to publish the recipe, and whether the research should have been done in the first place.
The virus is an H5N1 bird flu strain which was genetically altered to become much more contagious. It was created by Ron Fouchier of the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, who first presented his work to the public at an influenza conference in Malta in September. http://rt.com/news/bird-flu-killer-strain-119/
Less copulation, more security. If people would treat the sideways hello like the sacred act it really were, then they would know that life is much shorter and more precious then they know.

Way I see it, as a parent I am only trying to cause one single more generation to exist. Not infinite posterity. So I would raise my children to feel secure that their elders will always give care… Love… Defense, support, gentleness… And in the process I hope that if I had a child she or he would eventually come to feel a profound respect for that love and admonition.

I gotta wonder, wouldn’t the self-reporting aspect of this end up being something of a train wreck?
What percentage would actually be aware that they were such? Plus it appears to have become trendy for self-absorbed bores to fancy themselves psychopathic after watching a couple episodes of “Dexter.”

I agree that very few would self report. However sometimes it seems they are very stressed out by all this hiding (in plain sight). I can’t quite figure out what the goals of Oprah’s and Larry King’s producers were, but it seems to me at least somewhat in this direction.
I think Robert Hare’s decision not to do the shows was a mistake of a lifetime. In just a few minutes he would have reached millions who knew nothing about sociopaths, I don’t care if they wanted him to do the Macarena in a thong — well, let’s change that, Speedos maybe. He should consider with whom he discussed or consulted on this matter. The best sociopathic manipulators merely agree with the target. The target thinks the ideas are his/her own.
I’d be very curious whether Dr. Hare believes he has ever had sociopaths on his staff. I would bet my entire 401K he has. Actually I’m curious about all the academics and researchers (aside from the sociopathic ones) — how many SAPs (socially adept psychopaths) have they recognized in their outside life?
Shows such as Dexter scream the existence of s/p’s. They are not hiding it.
I’d say the vast majority have self knowledge of being an s/p (and a group identity). This self knowledge is not a throughline but a continuum within their population, imo.
(I’m sitting here writing this on a lazy Christmas afternoon. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all my gentle readers.)
