A former banker for the Swiss giant UBS who blew the whistle on the biggest tax-evasion scheme in US history is preparing to head to prison tomorrow to begin serving a forty-month federal sentence. Bradley Birkenfeld first came forward to US authorities in 2007 and began providing inside information on how UBS was helping thousands of Americans hide assets in secret Swiss accounts. We speak with his attorney, Stephen Kohn [of the National Whistleblowers Center], the executive director of the National Whistleblowers Center.

How to account for Government’s favorable selection of UBS’s side and unfavorable position against the whistleblower?
To me, the smoke signals, chicken bones and tea leaves show Government takes a consistently supportive for psychopathic characters in and out of the workplace while simultaneously acting against the Government’s own written policy regarding, let’s say, Whistleblower Protections and alternately the very criminal code that codifies finance chicanery. Of course, the same government wants The People to think they need an educated shaman to figure out those same tea leaves, chicken bones and smoke signals. Educated shaman is interchangeable with judge, CEO or any subhuman HR character, wait, don’t forget hospital-based social workers.
There it is again….Bateson’s Double Bind.
