I once knew this person from demos, way back when, but I no longer remember his name. “Oscar” comes to mind, but that might be wrong. I’m not implying he is a psychopath.
I believe he is (or was) my new checker-upper-er. For example a day after I came out of a hospital, I’m walking uptown, and I notice him pacing me on the other side of Broadway for 2-3 blocks. What the hay?! Then he speeds up and a few minutes later, he’s walking towards me on my side, studying me. There was a street market, but he wasn’t looking at anything else. (The doctors had said I had gotten ill because I had gone cold turkey on certain medications after my pharmacy kept claiming not to have received the refill order – though my personal doctor said they had spoken to the pharmacy directly. The no paper prescription law is a serious problem.) Then recently, one day he’s walking in traffic lanes against the direction of travel until he passes by my car directly. Again, that was after I had been extremely ill. A little odd. (For a long time I was either deathly ill or perfectly fine, now it may take me a little while to feel fine, plus I have internal organ damage.)
All my other checker-upper-ers have been psychopaths. He’s not. Interesting.
